Course Overview
This is a course where the students develop the basics of doing CAD drawings. First students in the class are taught mechanic drawing skills using drafting tools and techniques. Then they work on using computer aided drafting software's, which include AutoCad, Onshape, and Revit while still applying the skills of doing CAD drawings. Finally there is a little architecture section taught and we 3D print a object of our choice. What I liked about the class is how I learned how to do all different kinds of CAD drawings and how it helped me see how I have a big interest in going into the engineering field. Though what I disliked about the course is how some times in class I didn't have a lot to do and just sat around doing nothing. People who should take this course are people that want to go into any field of engineering and have a good work ethic to work hard on the drawings every day.
Mechanical Drawings
Mechanical drawings are the first type of drawing you will do in CAD 1. During the mechanical drawing section you will learn traditional drafting skills and will learn the basics of CAD and how to make drawings. Also later in the section you will start learning how to dimension your drawings.
2D CAD With AutoCad
In this section of the class you will start getting into doing drawings on computer software's. While doing the drawings you will learn the skills of Computer Aided Drafting and will start improving the speed of getting drawings done.
3D CAD With OnShape
This section in the course will start you doing drawings in 3D with OnShape. While doing the drawings you will continue to use previous skills learned in past sections while also learning new skills for drawing in 3D.
Architecture
The last section we did is an architecture section. In this section we did a quick intro to architecture then created a 2 car garage in Revit and did a architect presentation of a architect of our choice. In our quick intro to architecture we learned that architecture is the art and technique of designing and building as distinguished from the skills associated with construction. Also we learned about 6 of the main types of architecture which are domestic, religious, government, recreational, welfare and educational, and commercial and industrial.

3D Print
This is the object that I chose to 3D print and I chose to 3D print this articulated shark for a couple reasons. The first reason that I chose to 3D print this is because I thought that it would be a cool object to be put on my desk and be able to look at when I do my work. Also another reason I chose to 3D print this is because I've always liked sharks so it represents how I like sharks. Finally since it is articulated its fun to just mess with and it is something my little sister can play with.
Conclusion
Overall this class has taught me many skills that are essential to real life and that I can take going forward in my career. Some of the skills that class has taught me are how to manage my time effectively when completing work, how to take ownership of my work and education, how to lead a team or a person to accomplish a goal, and show determination while bringing a positive attitude everyday. Also one major takeaway from this class is that when you put in the effort and work then you get awesome results and make all the work you had to do in the class worth the time and effort. Finally the class has shown me how I really enjoy classes having to do with engineering and because of that is helping me understand that I may want to go into the engineering field when I go to college.
